The secrets of Parmigiani Fleurier
The Canton of Neuchâtel is home to one of the most popular and prestigious niche Swiss watch brands in Europe. Parmigiani di Fleurier, whose headquarters is a workshop in which watches are brought back to life: indeed, watches by every brand are restored here, a unique activity that is a key part of the company’s identity.
Founder Michel Parmigiani, whose parents were both Italian emigrants, began his career in 1976 by creating a company specialized in the restoration
of historic pieces.
Later, in 1996, when he launched his watch brand, he did not abandon the art of restoration, but chose instead to make it one of the company’s strengths.
“We start with restoration to find ideas that have passed the test of time,” explains David Traxler, CEO of Parmigiani Fleurier SA.
