Burato Gioielli for Arte Sella
For over 30 years, Arte Sella has been synonymous of art in nature: an authentic, one-of-a-kind creative workshop where art is in constant dialogue with the wonderful nature of Trentino’s Sella Valley. Here, hundreds of international artists have taken turns over the years to interpret the nature of the place in their style, creating extraordinary works of art in tune with the surrounding environment, the seasons and natural mutations.
However, in October 2018, Storm Adrian, one of the most violent and destructive storms ever recorded, changed the look of these mountains forever. The result was 23 damaged works to a cost of 400,000 Euros at Arte Sella and, more generally, 20,000 hectares of forest destroyed in Trentino alone and 3.3 cubic metres of wood cut down.
This is why Marta, the creator of Burato Gioielli collections, decided to make a move towards providing concrete help to these places dedicated to art and nature. “I have known Arte Sella for more than 10 years and I have a deep love for mountains. Seeing then destroyed like that was really heart-breaking.”
The charitable initiative originated thanks to a golden leaf, the symbol of a profound link between art and nature: a precious metal for a unique and shared ecosystem. A leaf that is available on the brand’s e-commerce channel and is accompanied by a campaign on the social networks that aims to return these woods to their much-loved status.
Furthermore, architect and artist Roberto Conte has also dedicated his work “Animo d’oro” (Golden Soul) to Arte Sella made from the remains of a red pine tree toppled by the wind. Digging out the interior, the artist then inserted gold-covered roots.
And so gold, one of the most precious and coveted natural metals, becomes a metaphor of beauty and purity, and the 23 kt gold leaf is a symbol of this re-birth: a delicate yet extremely shiny and striking item to leave a personal mark.
